My Testimony

Hello Everyone!
My name is Anna. I think that is the best place to begin. There are many things I believe in: God, family, close friends, deep breaths, quiet moments. However, I strongly believe that above all, everyone has a story. Every story starts somewhere, whether it be the rolling hills of Tennessee or the fast-paced streets of NYC, and every story takes us to a different place. No matter the details, I think every story is important. I believe every story is the image of God's grace and His unwavering hand in our lives. I believe that no matter the struggle, the joy, the love or the pain, life is lovely and every day we wake up is history in the making.

So this is my story:

I am a simple girl. I have spent the majority of my life under Kentucky skies and on the second pew of a country church. God has been so good to me, one page on a blog would never, ever be enough to describe the blessings I have been given. I come from a big family; I am the oldest of four daughters, as well as one of ten granddaughters. I have never, and will never, claim to be anything other than all-girl. I like to sing, write, read, and sit under the stars. My family does everything together, we go to church, we play music, and most of the time we just sit around and laugh at each other. Most of all, we love the Lord together. Everything we are is because of Jesus Christ. For some reason He sees us, in all of our humanity, and still loves us, and still wants to use us for His glory, and that is amazing.

When I was a kid, life was a lot slower-paced than it is today. I think the whole world was moving slower back then. I remember coming home from school and swinging out behind the house for hours and summer... summer lasted forever. Things are definitely different now. I just blink and my afternoon is gone. I am constantly on the run. Between school, work, church, and just life in general, the endless days seem to be gone. However, every now and again, I find one, and I have learned to cherish them.

When I started college, my life changed drastically. I moved away from my family (only about an hour, but still I didn't see them every day), I left all of my friends, and I started a whole new page. I was the scariest thing I ever did. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I learned so much about my relationship with the Lord during those first few months. God taught me that he really is closer than a brother (or a sister), He can be a best friend, a comfort, a shelter, and a lover. Within just months opportunities for ministry overwhelmed me, new people came into my life, and things rapidly changed.

Today I could not ask for a better life. Even on my worst days, I count myself the most blessed girl alive. I have the love of a great family, church family, boyfriend, and many wonderful friends. God has been so good to me, I just can't complain. I wish I could tell you every single little thing, but then again, that is what this blog is for. So join my story here as I record a lovely history.
